FAQ

General

We’re based in Auburn, Washington

The images shown are an indication of our signature Lavender & Lettuce style. We will create an arrangement featuring the best of the season in a similar style and color palette.

Flowers are subject to seasonal availability. In the event that any of the flowers are not available, we will substitute with a similar flower in the same shape, style and color.

Rest assured that they will be gorgeous and you or your recipient will love them!

We want you to enjoy your flower for as long as possible. So we wrote an entire post all about getting the longest vase life for you flowers. When dirt or bacteria gets into the stem, it quickly clogs, and the flower can no longer take up water. Leading to a quick death.

ALWAYS START WITH A CLEAN VASE. The vase should be clean enough to drink out of it.

CHANGE THE WATER DAILY Make changing the water a daily habit, this one step has the biggest impact on extending the vase life of your flowers. It only takes a few seconds each day but makes all the difference.

RECUT THE STEMS. Every 2 days give the stems a fresh cut and trim just a little off the end. This gives the flowers a wide-open stem to once again drink from. Click here to read all 7 tips, enjoy!

My goal is to connect as many people as I can to real flowers. I want to show where flowers come from and educate people around why it’s so important to buy local and sustainably grown flowers.

Watching the seedlings grow, seeing the first buds start to form....being able to cut the blooms at their peak of fragrance and beauty. The creativity they bring in designing an arrangement to enjoy.

That's the reason why I started this business to bring that same bit of joy and happiness to others. And to hopefully inspire you to get dirty and plant a few vegetables or flowers in whatever space you have.

Values & Sustainable Practices

We love this question! Just as knowing where your food comes from and choosing to purchase from farms that ethically and humanely raise their animals and crops. So too, knowing your flower farmer and choosing to buy from growers that pay employees a living wage and steward the environment. That provide habitat for butterflies, bees and other pollinators.

Where you choose to spend your hard-earned dollars is where your values reside. To get the full scoop on the global floral industry and why America now imports 80 percent of the flowers sold domestically please read our blog post Why buy local flowers?

Absolutely not! Floral foam is horribly toxic stuff and would never be found in our studio design space. We grow our flowers organically and never spray any chemicals, so it would defeat everything we are striving to achieve to then insert them into floral foam. We continually strive to be good stewards of the environment, it's a key value in our business practices.

Floral foam is NOT compostable and just adds more garbage to the landfills. Handling it and breathing in all the dust and small particles it creates as it's being cut and processed by florists is also dangerous and completely unnecessary to create a beautiful arrangement.

For this same reason you will also NEVER see any bleached, dyed or spray painted flowers & foliage in our designs! All of those stems are now garbage and have to be disposed of in the landfill.

All of our arrangements are delivered in water. When the flowers have gone over, they can simply be placed directly into any yardwaste/compost bin to be recycled and fed back into the soil.

Yes, they are! We do everything we can to reduce single use plastics instead opting to use kraft paper wrappings and cards along with biodegradable twine. The global floral industry has bad reputation for using tons of single use plastics to wrap each bundle of flowers and sometimes each flower stem before shipping them along with even more wrapping material. We strive to change that and not add further waste while still delivering a beautiful product to our customers.

If you want the freshest and most sustainable flowers domestic flowers are the solution. As a bonus, these local blooms are often deliciously scented too, unlike their imported counterparts that lose their fragrance as they are engineered and bred to be able to travel in a box without water over multiple days.

These seasonal flowers are often rarely seen by consumers as they don’t travel well (you might recognize some of them from your grandmother's flower patch). But customers are noticing and are starting to prioritize buying local and buying American grown flowers.

Lot’s of fun and hard work! Always learning and changing with the seasons but always with an eye towards improving. Trialing new varieties to gauge what works best in our climate and growing region.

Striving to get more efficient and sustainable in our growing practices every year. And seeking to lengthen the growing season in order to get flowers to our customers both earlier and later in the year.
